Food and drink you need to try in Liverpool 

Whether you love a gourmet burger, or prefer an oriental style cuisine, Liverpool is host to a wealth of delicious eateries to enjoy!

Panoramic 34 ⬆️

Panoramic is Britain’s tallest restaurant and bar, located on the 34th floor of Liverpool’s West Tower. Reaching 100m above sea level, it offers breathtaking 360° views of the city and beyond.

Bakchick 🧆

Located on the chic and quirky Bold Street, Bakchick is a Lebanese and Moroccan restaurant. It serves a variety of Lebanese Mezze and traditional Lebanese dishes like Shawarma, Falafel, and Baklawa.

Down the Hatch 🍔

Down the Hatch is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant serving dirty burgers, loaded hotdogs, sharers, and small plates. It’s now open as a bar with a late-night reduced food menu until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays – did somebody say late night snack?

Baltic Market 🍽

Don’t know what food you fancy? Liverpool’s Baltic Market is your best bet. From wood-fired pizzas and vegan Berliner comfort food, to fried chicken and Thai cuisine, there’s something to suit every taste and budget. 

Derek’s 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Inspired by the Italian American delis in Brooklyn, Derek’s is a sandwich bar serving up the best subs and coffee this side of the Atlantic. For an authentic taste of New York, you have to try the iconic Rubenstein.  

Kazmier Garden 🍻

Also known as The Kaz, Kazmier Garden is a side street venue, largely in the open air, but with some sheltered areas. It’s a relaxed and friendly space that serves up a great selection of European and craft beers with food and snacks provided by pop-up vendors. 

The Font 🍹

The Font is a friendly but trendy bar serving burgers, cheap cocktails, boozy milkshakes, and craft beers. There are also old school arcade games like Space Invaders, live sport, and regular student quizzes.

The Merchant 💃🏼🕺🏼

Located on Slater Street, The Merchant is a stylish hangout featuring pizza, burgers, cocktails, and craft beer. By day, it’s cool and casual. By night, there’s a roster of DJs providing the party vibes.

Motel Bar 🍸

Described as broody, dark, and intimate, Motel Bar is a cool Dive Bar located on Fleet Street. Open until 4am, there’s an extensive cocktail menu, beers, and shooters. And, with a happy hour on every day until midnight, don’t be surprised if it becomes your regular hangout spot.

Blue Angel/The Raz 🎸

The Blue Angel, also known as The Raz, is a Liverpool institution. Back in the 1960s, both The Beatles and the Rolling Stones played here. Now, with its five bars, two dance floors and generous drinks deals, it’s hugely popular with students.

Heebie Jeebies 🎷

With three floors each playing completely different styles of music, Heebie Jeebies is one of those clubs with universal appeal. There’s live music, DJs, and themed nights until 4am – all fuelled by pitchers of cocktails and beers.

Level 🍾

Reopening on 9th September 2023 following an extensive refurb, Level is one of the biggest nightclubs in Liverpool, playing everything from House and RnB, to Hip Hop and Pop. It’s a popular student hangout and with drinks deals, hot DJs, and celebrity appearances - it’s not hard to see why.

Never a dull moment at Gravity Max Liverpool 🎮

Gravity Max is Liverpool’s hottest new entertainment venue. Located at Liverpool One, Gravity Max features two floors of live music, food and drink, immersive games and activities, and the city’s largest rooftop bar.

There’s e-karting, digital darts, bowling, an arcade packed with pure nostalgia, multiplayer VR, urban street golf, and batting cages, to name just a few. It is quite literally impossible to get bored here. There’s no student discount available (booo!) but with so much on offer, you’ll find something here to suit every budget. 

Rides and vibes at Alton Towers 🎢

We know, we know. Technically, Alton Towers isn’t in Liverpool – it’s in Staffordshire. But if you or your mates have got a car between you, it’s well worth the hour and a half road trip. There’s over 40 rides and attractions, including world-class rollercoasters like Oblivion, Nemesis, Wicker Man and The Smiler.

You can get discounted entry to the park with Student Beans. And, keep an eye out for special events throughout the year, including Oktoberfest, Scarefest, and the Fireworks Spectacular in November.

Meet music royalty at the British Music Experience 🎹

If music tickles your guitar strings, make sure you pay a visit to the BME (British Music Experience). From the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Bowie, to The Spice Girls, Oasis and Adele - the BME features interactive displays, galleries, and hologram performances of some of the most iconic British pop bands.

Students get discounted tickets and £1 of every ticket goes to the BME charity. Each general ticket is valid for 12 months, meaning you can return multiple times throughout the year. 

Burn off steam at Bounce House 🏰

Got some energy to burn? Hop over to Bounce House. Formerly known as Spring City Liverpool, Bounce House is an inflatable theme park located just a mile from the world-famous Royal Albert Dock.

Giving you the perfect excuse to act like big kids for the day, there’s high slides, climbing walls, a maze, an assault course, and trampolines. Plus, you’ll find a VR suite, gaming room,  pick ‘n’ mix station, and an ice cream bar.

The best bit? The venue runs student takeover sessions at £10 for 60 mins, so you don’t have to worry about knocking over any little ones!

Treetop thrills at Go Ape Delamere 🌳

Scared of heights? Face your fears and create unforgettable memories with your friends as you scale the treetops at Go Ape Delamere.

Go Ape’s Delamere Treetop Challenge is an exhilarating self-guided journey through the forest canopy. It features wobbly bridges, tightropes, freefall Tarzan swings, a 212-metre long zipline, plus incredible views across Lake Linmere.

A 10% discount is available for students from Sunday to Monday.

For a taste of Liverpool’s independent scene, head to the iconic Bond Street. You’ll find quirky cafes, vintage clothing, record shops, galleries, and amazing world-food restaurants.

Chinatown 🥡

Liverpool is also home to the oldest Chinatown in Europe. As well as a huge selection of restaurants serving up authentic Chinese cuisine, there’s a lively karaoke bar where you can sing your heart out until the early hours.

River cruises 🛥

The Mersey Cruise is the ultimate sightseeing experience in the city. On this 50-minute River Explorer Cruise, you’ll get to take in the best views of Liverpool and Wirral’s spectacular waterfronts.

Radio City 📻

For more amazing views, pay a visit to Radio City Liverpool. Positioned 400 feet above the heart of the city centre, it’s one of Liverpool’s most iconic landmarks, offering panoramic views of Merseyside’s ever-changing skyline.

Sefton Park ☘️

If it’s a lazy afternoon you’re after, there’s no better place to chill than Sefton Park. With luscious green spaces, a lake, and hidden grottos and waterfalls, it’s a perfect spot for escaping the hustle and bustle of Liverpool’s busy streets. 

The beach 🏖
